Provokes memories of summer vacations to my grandmother's farm in Eudora Arkansas. Times were simpler, but that back-breaking life made folks older quicker. I recall the contrasts. The black side of rural life was different. When we crossed the line to go to town there was always a quicker beat of the heart. Still, it was fun to go to the store and buy penny candy! No hanging around though...back to the other side, chewing taffy the whole way.
